W. Burnett Jr

Services for W. E. Burnett, Jr., 75, of Cotton Center, Tx., were held at 2:00 pm Monday, February 25, 2002, in the First Baptist Church, Cotton Center, Tx., with Rev. Randy Land and Rev. Raymond Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Center Plains Cemetery, Cotton Center, under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. Mr. Burnett died Saturday, February 23, 2002, in Plainview, Texas. He was born on January 15, 1927 in Newlin, Tx, and moved to Cotton Center in 1942. He married Martha Sageser on July 25, 1948 in Cotton Center. He was a Deacon at the First Baptist Church and had taught the Men's Sunday School Class for many years. He had served on the Cotton Center School Board and was a former member of the Lions Club. Survivors; Wife, Martha Burnett of Cotton Center, Tx. 2 Sons, Kyle Burnett and Troy Burnett both of Cotton Center, Tx. 2 Daughters, Carolyn Johnson of Greenville, Tx., and Janice Ahrens of Danville, Ca. 4 Brothers, R. J. Burnett of Wolfforth, Tx., Orville Burnett of Lazbuddie, Tx., Kenneth Burnett of Cotton Center, Tx., and Neal Burnett of Plainview, Tx. 2 Sisters, Pat Christian and Jan Whitfill both of Plainview, Tx. 8 Grandchildren, Amy Ahrens, Brad Ahrens, Brian Johnson, Craig Johnson, Abbie Burnett, Macie Burnett, Cassie Burnett and Darcie Burnett.
