Obituary of Lori Bufe

Services for Lori Bufe, 28, of Lubbock, TX and formerly of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 2, 2009, in the Abernathy High School Auditorium with Steve Gauntt and David Bennett officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Ms. Bufe succumbed to her battle with cancer Sunday, August 30, 2009, in Lubbock, TX. She was born February 18, 1981 in Plainview, TX to Harold and Linda (Cook) Bufe. The family lived in Panhandle, TX and Hale Center, TX before moving to Abernathy, where she graduated from Abernathy High School in 1999. She played basketball and was in FFA and showed livestock. She attended Texas Tech University and Lubbock Christian University and was a trainer for the LCU Men's Basketball Team. She pledged Kappa Phi Kappa and was employed as restaurant manager at Ruby Tequilas. Lori is survived by her parents, Harold and Linda Bufe, a sister, Cheri Liess and her husband Jake and a brother, Ryan Bufe and his wife Ashley all of Abernathy, TX. She is also survived by her grandparents, Wilford and Faye Bufe of Hale Center, TX and Wayne and Charlotte Cook of Spokane, WA, 2 neices, Taelor and Addison Liess and Brock Bufe, one uncle, Howard Bufe of Dallas, TX and an aunt, Betty Williams of Ft. Worth, TX. The family will be receiving friends at their home.
