Recently he worked in real estate specializing in construction and remodeling of properties for first time buyers with friend Oscar Berlanga. Ruwayne's Christianity was a hallmark of his life as noted by friends and family as a willingness to help and give under any circumstance. His involvement in real estate enabled him to help first time buyers purchase homes and realize their dreams. He was active in several churches in Lubbock in the past years. He served as a divorce care leader and an active member of Christian singles program. Ruwayne, over many years, provided resources and time to the Listening Heart Center of Lubbock with his longtime friend Dr. Chris Elliot. Ruwayne donated his time and money within the Emmaus group and lived a true life of prevenient grace. His life may best be summed up as that of a Christian warrior providing service to others through unselfish gifts of his time and resources. The servant attitude he exhibited during life continued after his death by the donation of his body to the Texas Tech Medical School Program. The family suggests memorials to the Listening Heart Center of Lubbock at 3050 34th street, Suite A .Lubbock, TX 79410 or a favorite charity as a final gift of service.
